Invited Talks

IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT RECORDINGS

Whilst I am not typically aversive to my invited talks being recorded, I would ask that the following areas of best practice are followed by event organisers when inviting speakers for conferences, events, guest lectures etc:

  • Ask for permission from speakers in advance of the event about recordings

  • Make all delegates aware in advance whether or not a recording will be taking place (especially when Q&As are included)

  • Provide details on who will have access to any recordings following the event and how this will be disseminated

  • Provide details of how long recordings will be available to the specified audience before they are destroyed (if applicable)

Thank you.
