PROJECTS

Using cyberpsychology to inspire user-centred digital use and innovation

My research interests broadly explore how online worlds affect our everyday experiences and behaviour, and the extent to which we can understand human psychology from studying people’s online behaviour.

In broad terms, my ongoing research aims to explore the nature of behaviours which underpin engagement with online communications technology. I am passionate about recognising the agency of users within digital experiences, in contrast to many perspectives which assume technological determinism in respect of the human intersection with technology. Specifically, I am interested in projects which are focused on:

1) Exploring factors related to digital acceptance, adoption and innovation
2) Understanding "social media use"

3) Understanding psychological response to emoji
